Blackburn to Give Away Hundreds of Lights to London Commuters!

A number of Blackburn representatives will be stationed at the junction of Queen Street and Cannon Street in the City, from 5:30 PM on Monday 31st of October and will be giving out pairs of Blackburn “Click” safety lights.

Cycling has seen a massive resurgence in recent times, from the stunning increases in membership of British Cycling and the huge demand for events such as the Sky Ride, cycling has never been so popular .

This popularity has only been fuelled by the domination of British riders both on the track and on the road, with the likes of newly crowned World Champion, Mark Cavendish, captivating the nation in the run up to the London 2012 games.

This surge in popularity can be seen in towns and cities across the UK, as more and more commuters shunning their cars and crowded train journeys for the freedom and ease of a daily cycle. The popularity of the fixed scene has further cemented this resurgence in cycling, with young Londoners riding their single speed machines to work, the pub and everywhere in-between.

When the clocks go back on Sunday 30th October all those who commute on their bikes will be praising the lighter mornings, however, it’s the darker evenings that can often catch out many commuters, particularly within the first few days, when many will be leaving their place of work in the dark.

Making sure you can be seen is one of the most fundamental and important parts of cycle safety, so with this in mind Blackburn are hitting the streets of London on Monday 31st of October, arming cyclists with a free set of Blackburn “Click” lights with an SRP £19.99! Cycling is a great pastime, so Blackburn will be making sure that everyone can safely continue their love of riding all year round!

Blackburn will be giving away thousands of pounds worth of lights during this event, something that John Kitchiner, Editor of London Cyclist, has high praise for: "A set of lights is an absolute essential for every commuter or urban rider, so it's great to see Blackburn taking the initiative and distributing their products for free on the city's streets"

Numbers are limited, so be sure to get there early to get your share of thousands of pounds worth of lights!

About Blackburn

In 1975 Jim Blackburn founded Blackburn Design with two principles: make reliable, superior products; and stand behind them with a Lifetime Warranty. Years later Blackburn is still dedicated to making high quality accessories designed for the rigours of real world cycling, and is backed by the best warranty in the business.

No fads, no gimmicks, just smart durable accessories that won't let you down when you need them most.

The secret to Blackburn equipment’s sensible design, premium construction, and incredible durability are the people who ride it every day, on road and off; in races, training, triathlons, tours, and daily commutes.

Every Blackburn product has hundreds of test miles on it by people who demand the same kind of performance from their equipment as you do. Cyclists all over the world know if they want equipment that will survive the worst kind of punishment, the first choice is Blackburn.

About the Blackburn Click

The “Click” is a simple safety light, with both front and rear running on 2 super-bright LEDs with some 15 lumens of output, making your presence notable to other road users. The simple silicon straps means that the “Click” can be mounted to any handlebar or seatpost, without the need for tools, making it ideal for urban commuters looking to add a simple and functional level of lighting to their bike.
