FOX LAUNCHES AIR 40 LANDING PAGE

FOX riders and engineers detail the intricacies of the 2014 FACTORY 40 FLOAT RC2

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. – FOX—the industry-leading ride dynamics company—has launched a new web page with details about the 2014 FACTORY 40 FLOAT RC2 fork. The page hosts a main video feature about the development of the ‘14 40 as well as several rider testimonials and prototype images.

The 2014 FACTORY 40 FLOAT RC2 has set a new benchmark for downhill forks through its stiff chassis, low center of gravity and excellent adjustability – and weighs just 5.98 pounds. It also features a highly tunable air spring with an adjustable compression ratio and high- and low-speed compression and rebound damping.

Current World Champion Greg Minnaar and World Cup Series Champion Aaron Gwin rode prototype versions of the current 40 design last season. Between the two of them, they won five of the seven World Cup downhill events.

Rachel Atherton also won five World Cup races on the 40 and took the World Cup Series title.

Danice Uyesugi news

Summer has gotten off to a chilly start here in Vancouver but the racing season is hot as ever! Since my last update I've gone to 3 more races, each of which has had it's own challenges and successes.

First off was the Sunshine Coaster, a “just for fun” race on the Sunshine Coast. This was my first real DH race back in 2007 and I’ll never forget the feeling of exhilaration crossing the finish line and then standing on the podium. Ever since then it’s been one of my favorites and this year was no different. It may be one of the flattest courses around but it more than makes up for that in flow. I had a blast in practice and then pedaled my heart out in my race run, landing me a 4th place finish in a solid field of Pro Women.

Next it was back to Port Angeles for the 3rd round of the NW Cup series. I’ve really been enjoying this series and cannot say enough about the level of organization and how friendly everyone is. The course this time around was a combination of NW Cup #1 (top) and NW Cup #2 (bottom) with a new middle connecting section. It was definitely the most technical of the 3 which was fine with me. I was loving the course, finished 3rd in seeding and felt confident going into the race. A mishap in my race run put me back a bit but I still stood tall on the podium in 5th place.

Last but not least was perhaps the biggest race of the year so far, the first of the Canada Cup Series in Tremblant, QC. Tremblant was very unlike all of the races I’ve done so far this year – it’s rocky and rough with more rocks and then a few more. My M9 rose to the test and felt rock solid the whole weekend. Come race time I’d decided that, due to the technical nature of the course, I would play it safe in the more technical sections and then pin it the rest of the time… and it worked. I came away with a 2nd place finish, a great way to start the National Series! I just want to say a great big thank you to my sponsors at OGC who helped make this trip smooth and relatively stress free! I want to end with a few awesome shots that Ian Hylands got of me at the Pro GRT earlier this season.

"Dex Files" - Episode 1

From British Columbia, to California and Oregon, follow Intense/OGC team rider Dexter Robson, in a new 3 part series based on west coast riding life.

In episode 1, we head to one of the best riding towns in all of British Columbia. In early March, Dexter receives his highlighter yellow M9. Fresh with excitement, we spend the day, amidst towering tree's and staggering views, attempting to capture the feeling of how a new bike performs. Silent, and crisp. Choosing one of the nicest days of early spring, and finishing it off with quite a spectacular sunset, in true Squamish fashion. And possibly gorging on some Fat Burger.

We've made a few trips to Squamish over the years, and have shot an excessive amount of sunset shots. It seems every evening invokes this type of light. Perfect riding conditions, making it easy to lean it over.

Special thanks to: GoPro, Outdoor Gear Canada, Easton, Intense Cycles, Giro and everyone else who made this possible.

News from Matt Macduff

I just got back from Europe last week and it was unreal, I started my trip with the Vienna Air King were I qualified 7th, but unfortunately I fell during practice on Sunday hitting my nuts really bad, and wrecking my back wheel. Fortunately, it was nothing serious and I was back on the bike a week later, and filmed this video with friends:

Then I was off to Switzerland for the Rivella Rocket Air Slopestyle. Unfortunately, I ran into some bad luck again and fell during practice hurting my ankle pretty bad. But I toughed it out and rode the pre Q. I qualified 7th again but when I woke up the next morning my ankle hurt so bad there was just no way I could have road on it, so I was forced to watch from the side lines again...

Then I was off to Barcelona to work on a special web project for The Rise which will be out later this year.

All in all the trip was great, I met loads of new people, got invited to more events, and rode some amazing places.

Hope alls well,

Sincerely,

Matt Macduff
